Two layer process

⚠️ Warning: This guide presumes you already know how to operate the machine, if you find yourself stuck, have a look here: one layer process..

🔄 Deviations from the one layer process

  • Template: Choose Two layer, no THP (Through-Hole Plating).
  • Reference holes: we need to have reference holes for alignment.

Material setup

  • The material needs to be centered so the holes can be drilled. follow this guide:

Board production:

Intro

  • Instead of using the board production wizard we'll be manually running the steps, so we have more control over the process.

1. Marking drills

  • This step marks the places we'll be drilling at

2. Drilling unplated

  • When drilling, there has to be enough of the drill clearance of the drill so it goes thru, you can check the depth using another board you have.

3. Milling bottom

4. Flip the material

  • Carefully remove the board from the sacrificial bed
  • Remove all double sided tape and its residues
  • Flip the board around the axis coming thru the reference holes
  • put the alignment pins into the sacrificial backing
  • Stick the board on the sacrificial backing again, the non milled side up, use the pins to align the board.
  • ⚠️ Use plier to remove the pins, otherwise the toolhead may crash into them!!!! ⚠️
